Son kurt and I start our adventure tomorrow from Boston with the first leg to London, then connect to Bahrain in the Middle East, (where I threatened to entertain the crowd by waving George Bush posters)then to beautiful downtown Kathmandu. We get there on Sat pm a full 48 hours after leaving Rhose Island. In reality, it's only 36 hours of plane rides and waiting in airports because they are 12 hours ahead of us. I have always said you don't have to worry about the world ending because it's already tomorrow in Nepal.i will do my best, with satelite technology, to update frequently from Nepal starting this weekend. Stay tuned!

[......]

Hello All, Sorry for being away so long but technology, volcanoes, and high altitude lassisitude all conspired against communicating as I want to. Kurt and I are well and having a ball together as we travel the 900 yr old path.We have met some interesting characters from all over the world. Right now we are at 13000' feet at Tengboche (very famous monastary)getting ready to attend the 3pm Buddhist service. We will leave tomorrow for Pheriche and may or may not take a rest day before leaving for first, Lobuche then, Gorak Shep then finally Everest Base Camp. Hope all is well! Tim/Kurt Warren PS we saw our first Everest view yesterday.[......]

It's always an adventure leaving the house to actually start an adventure. Usually the problem is looking for your missing sock or your IPOD ear buds. This is the first time that a volcanoe has disrupted (potentially) travel plans. It seems an Icelandic volcanoe has blown to smithereens (great late 80's band) covering Europe in ash and especially, you guessed it, London.
