Man On A Wire (Mountain)

Lookin' at Lhotse (world's 4th highest mountain)-Everest '08

Just saw a great documentary in 'Man On a Wire' (available on Netflix).  It's about Philipe Petite's (sp?) illegal but fascinating wire walk between NYC's Twin Towers in 1975.  I can remember as a fifteen year old being wowed by this event.  I loved the sense of Mission and the hard work of preperation ( it reminded me of the first two chapters of my upcoming book).  Many missions are not fully understood by others, especially if dangerous or not seemingly beneficial. However, I see a person's drive to achieve as simply a different form of artwork. I was just talking to a patient yesterday about her mission of training and racing triathlons. She admittedly will never win a race, but the 'power of purpose' to do her best win or lose is strong  and quite admirable. I believe we should all be cultivating a strong mission ( or missions) in whatever way our passions guide us, as long is it is not hurtful to others.  'Enuf said.
